Plans for the future

Well, there are some...

• First of all, create the ``KBACKUP --Rescue Disk'' , to make restoring a crashed system as easy as possible.
• Introduce more options for flexible restore operation.
• Better and safer support for  pgp(1) encryption. Depends on  afio(1) patches.
• Support for additional  afio(1) or  tar(1) parameters.
• Maybe implement another way of writing backups to mountable media, by directly writing to the filesystem instead of creating archive files. This might be done using  cpio(1) in pass-through mode.
• Maybe include a way to restore ``normal''  tar(1) or  afio(1)

  archives from within KBACKUP .

• Create short scripts for restoring archives without KBACKUP .
• German or other versions of the software?
• Implement all the features asked for by you!

The last point is important, just tell me what you think about this software, so I can implement the features YOU are missing.

In general, after having made rather deep changes from version 1.1 to 1.2, my aim is now to make less changes and allow the code to gain more stability. Version 1.2.3 has only minor enhancements against 1.2.0 but mainly bugfixes and changes to make it more portable.
